Seahawks Split with Barry
The Northwood softball team traveled down to Miami Gardens yesterday to take on the D2 defending national champions from Barry University. The Lady Seahawks came out hard and was not intimidated at all. They jumped on the Bucs in the first inning 2-0 and just kept rolling from there. They held on to with the first game 5-3 despite giving us a solo homerun. They played well in the second game as well but Barry was able to hang on to win 4-2. The Seahawks will keep this momentum going to the weekend. They will play their final conference series against St. Thomas at home. The first game will be Friday night a 5 followed by two games on 12 and 2. They must win at least 1 of 3 to make it to the conference playoffs.
Northwood takes 2 of 3 from Webber
The Lady Seahawks were on their game this past weekend. They opened up friday night with a bang defeating the Webber Warriors 6-3 in the series opener. They continued with this momentum on Saturday and defeated Webber in the first game 4-3. It was a great game and showed a huge team effort as the Lady Seahawks came back in the bottom of the 7th inning to win it. They kept the momentum going to the third game but were unable to come away with the win as the Warriors came out on top 4-3. With these big wins the Seahawks should make it to the conference playoffs which are held in Bartow, FL.

Weekend Series Against Warner
The Lady Seahawks came out hard in game 1 against Warner in game 1 on Friday. They went up 4 to 0 in the first inning. They stayed strong through the next couple innings until Warner started to swing their sticks. With a combination of a few errors by the lady seahawks and a few big hits from the Warner Royals, the Seahawks ended up going down in the first game 4-11. The next day was no better for the Seahawks as they lost both games on Saturday. The Seahawks are now 3-6 in conference and are working this week to have a great series against Webber this upcomming weekend in order to make the playoffs.

Seahawks Split with Eckerd
On Monday, the Seahawks traveled to Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL. They played well and we up in the first game 4 to 2 going into the bottom of the 7th. The first batter reached on a cathers interference and the next batter was on with a walk. The next girl got up and hit a 3-run walk off homerun to win the game in a heartbreaker for the Seahawks. Northwood came out ready for revenge in the next game and won that one 5-4. This now improves the seahawks overall record to 11-15 and adds another d2 win for the Seahawks. They will take the momentum from this win into the weekend conference series against Warner at home. They ladies will be back in action at 5pm on Friday and again on Saturday at 12 and 2.

Conference Series at Ave Maria
After going down hard to 0-3 against SCAD last weekend the Lady Seahawks were looking for revenge. They traveled 2 1/2 hours to Ave Maria University which is near Naples, FL. The first game of the series Friday night the Seahawks came out ready to play and defeated Ave Maria 6-4. The next day the Lady Seahawks were ready for more and despite the very hot temperatures and fatigue that was starting to set in, they still hung together as a family. They won the first game of the day 6 to 4. At that point it was the heat of the day and they were going into the second game exhausted. They found away to work through being extremely tired and pulled out the second game 4 to 2. The Lady Seahawks evened out their conference record 3-3 after the weekend. They will travel to Eckerd College Monday before taking on there next conference opponent Warner at home this coming weekend.
